Recently the PM, Narendra Modi government has revealed a list of 98 cities that are included for its ambitious Smart Cities Project. This list includes 24 state capitals for the development.

SMART CITIES:

To be the part of the Smart Cities list, on city has to go through a set of conditions that are mandatory to be fulfilled. It Includes
• Progress under the Swachh Bharat Programme
• An information and grievance redress mechanism
• e-newsletter
• Timely payment of salaries and auditing of accounts
• Sanitation work and solid waste management
• Citizens participation for future vision of the city

The list made by the government doesn’t include Patna, Kolkata, Bengaluru.
Jammu and Kashmir has asked for more time to decide on the potential cities of their state that can be smart cities.
Smart cities are under project and will be full developed by 2022 and will have the best services that a city should have its complete potential.
Let’s hope government works on this plan without any delay.
